Props
For my music video I will not be needing many props. This is because the location/setting is more important and can tell the audience more than props can. However the few props that I do need are, some fairy lights for shooting a few romantic more intimate scenes in the bedroom, a bed also for the bedroom scenes. I may be using a few smaller props like a rose and pictures of the characters in photo frames. Another possible prop i will need is a park or some swings.

Location
My music video is going to be located in several places. My main location will be in a dance studio where I will have my two characters performing a dance, the dance with show emotion and some of the choreography will relate to the lyrics. My idea of interpreting dance into the video was after watching Pixie Lott’s video Broken Arrow which I analysed earlier on in the year. I found the video brought out a lot of emotions and some of the choreography told a kind of story. I also thought this was a brilliant idea as I love to dance and enjoy choreographing new routines especially when I have a story to tell/show through the movements.
Another of my initial ideas was to have the two characters playing in a field full of corn which is local to me however when I was going to film this the weather worsened and we got a lot of snow although this stops me filming it in the corn field I found another field which was covered in snow which I am scheduled to film a couple of scene in there, these scenes will be clips of the 2 characters playing in the snow together as a couple.
Another of my settings is in Texas here at this time of year they get quite a few bad storms, therefore I want to see if I can capture some storms with lightning. If I am able to get this it will be great as it will relate to my song choice, the song I have chosen is called the lightning strike therefore having clips of lightning will make the video even better. It will also link with the reason why the artist decided to create the song. A third setting I have in mind is the bedroom. I will be using a bedroom of one of the characters as they have a rather dark coloured bedroom and I would like to put some fairy lights up so it will make the room look more romantic. In the bedroom I am looking at creating some scenes which are more intimate between the two characters, these scenes will not be very often or revealing however it can show the audience a side they haven’t seen of the couple yet.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, lyricist Gary Lightbody revealed the song was conceived after he was caught in a heavy storm one night in Glasgow: "I was pretty terrified - 150-mile-an-hour winds, trees falling down. But we went outside the house, and it was also just thrilling. There was this howling wind, but it felt like silence, as if our senses were being too bombarded to cope with what was going on. So the record was born out of that feeling, of two people having a protective shell around each other. I'm not saying there's not darkness in there still, but it's happening from outward factors more than inward. Maybe things are terrifying, but they're beautiful, too. The world is extremely surprising.”
Above are some sentences taken from Wikipedia explaining why the song was written and what the artists interpretation of the meaning is. This has helped me more to understand the meaning of the lyrics as they are quite difficult to understand and some to me don’t have much meaning.
